For Keramik Oderbruch, a ceramic studio based in Brandenburg, Core Communication helped professionalize the brand’s external communication and strengthen its digital presence. The collaboration included an on-site content production with a photographer and videographer, where we created visual content tailored to the studio’s aesthetic and craftsmanship.

In addition, we managed the social media channels, including content creation. TikTok was introduced as a completely new platform to expand reach and visibility. Several posts went viral and generated hundreds of thousands of views, helping the studio connect with a much larger audience and showcase its beautiful work far beyond the local region.

Craftsmanship at its best

  • Content creation and social media management for Keramik OderBruch. A local ceramic studio going viral!

Background

Hidden in a small village called Letschin, close to the Polish border, lies Keramik Oderbruch. Surrounded by vast landscapes, quietness and nature, handcrafted ceramics with a distinctive artistic signature have been created here for many years. The ceramic studio is run by ceramic artist Katrin Heinrich and is known for its high-quality handmade ceramics.
For many years, the studio primarily relied on tourism and local visitors discovering the atelier by chance while traveling through the Oderbruch region.

Despite the remarkable craftsmanship behind the ceramics, the studio had little digital visibility, no cohesive online presence and no online shop. When Katrin contacted us to help professionalize the studios’s external communication and make the atelier visible beyond its remote location, we were immediately all in.

Our goal was to create a digital presence that not only captures the special atmosphere, authenticity and artistic quality of Keramik Oderbruch, but also brings its craftsmanship to a much wider audience.

Challenge

One of the biggest challenges was translating Katrin Heinrich’s extensive knowledge and craftsmanship into content that feels relevant, engaging and shareable for a younger audience — without losing the unique artistic identity of Keramik Oderbruch.

The goal was never to turn Katrin into a trendy personal brand. Instead, we wanted to develop a visual language and storytelling approach that made pottery feel contemporary, inspiring and emotionally accessible.

Another important step was introducing TikTok as a completely new communication channel. At first, Katrin was skeptical about the platform, but after only a few weeks she was impressed by the reach and visibility.

A further challenge was that Katrin initially did not feel comfortable in front of the camera. Over time, however, she gradually became more confident, and her speaking about her techniques, inspirations and creative process added an important personal layer to the studio’s digital presence.

Approach

The entire project was built as a collaborative effort from the very beginning. Together with my network colleagues Leon Hahn and Eugenia Hahn, we developed the creative direction, content strategy and visual approach for Keramik Oderbruch as a team.

To capture the atmosphere of the studio as authentically as possible, we traveled to Brandenburg for an on-site content production. By combining photography, videography and storytelling, we created a diverse content mix tailored specifically for social media (with a strong focus on reels) as well as Instagram and TikTok as the main communication platforms.

A central focus throughout the entire project was Katrin Heinrich herself and her individual artistic signature, as she is the creative force behind Keramik Oderbruch. Instead of presenting the ceramics as anonymous products, we intentionally centered the communication around Katrin, her craftsmanship, her philosophy and her creative process.

Rather than creating polished advertising content, the goal was to make viewers feel genuinely connected to the craftsmanship, textures, atmosphere and personality behind the studio. Through short-form videos, atmospheric visuals and authentic storytelling, we developed content that stayed true to the character of Keramik Oderbruch while also performing strongly across Instagram and TikTok — ultimately generating hundreds of thousands of views.
